Bucklin Of Counsel is the home for Leonard Bucklin's work. Part of that work involves constant observance of how lawyers work. Bucklin's conclusion is that lawyers who are organized and use systems are the ones most likely to both make money and make clients happy. Bucklin has a number of publications, some of which are sold outside of his enterprises. One such book, called Building Trial Notebooks, is sold by James Publishing. Annually supplemented, with a CD of forms, it has practical - up to date - advice for both beginning lawyers and also experienced lawyers, on handling litigation. Bucklin shows how to use a notebook organizational system not only for
trials, but also for discovery and settlement.
This is in a traditional law book format: a hard copy, loose-leaf book set, Building Trial Notebooks, (800 + pages, three volumes, plus CD of forms) is shipped with a loose leaf trial binder ready to use, sold by James Publishing, an independent publisher. "Your advice is powerful and innovative. The tone is both helpful and authoritative. The writing is clear, concise, well-illustrated, and supported with some truly fantastic forms. All combine to make this a wonderful package of useful information that is aimed dead-on at ...a lawyer in a small to midsize firm]". Another of the copyrighted LawyerTrialForms™ publications is Attorney Fee Awards: a handbook for attorneys. If you want Attorney Fee Awards: a handbook for attorneys as a soft-bound book, for $68.00, it is available at Booklocker, which publishes and sells the book in its soft-bound format. If you want the eBook version of Attorney Fee Awards, for $47.00 (the best buy) the ebook version (which has the advantage of being able to put the forms into your word processor) is available at www. AttorneyFeeAward. |

BKMS was started by Bucklin as sole owner, with the initial name of Bucklin Trial Lawyers, p.c. The premise was that the large, sparsely populated, prairie areas of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, and Wyoming (the Upper Midwest) needed excellent lawyers, but separately any one of those plains areas could not sustain a litigation firm with the resources needed for substantial litigation. Thus was born the idea of a regional law firm which would service substantial litigation needs in the prairie areas of those states. Accordingly, the firm embarked on an aggressive campaign to make itself known to small town attorneys in the upper Midwest plains areas. Plains area attorneys could refer their cases to the regional firm of BKM with the assurance that the client would remain the referring attorney's client, but client and referring attorney would have the services of a regional law firm that specialized in the efficient handling of litigation of all types. Bucklin remains in an of counsel relationship with this firm. The firm byline, developed by Bucklin, is "We take serious cases and we handle them seriously." Bucklin, Klemin, McBride. and Schweigert, P.C. law firm information is in the Martindale-Hubble Law Directory, which includes a list of distinguished representative clients they have served in various states. |
